So fit

In the last few months I have started exercising. It started with cardio vascular work, but in the last few weeks I have started basic weights. Why would the Jester do this I hear you asking (if I imagine really hard) well, it’s because I am 36 and unfit.
Years of partying hard and then further time sat at poker tables have not helped me maintain my once wonderful physique and fitness levels. People assume because I am thin that I am fit. Well, yes I am fit if you mean handsome and attractive and witty and charming and intelligent etc etc, but physically I need some help.
So to the gym then, 3 or 4 times a week and it has been great, I actually have some muscles to tense up and I have much more energy as well as having more focus. Coupled in with a lower booze intake (sadly) means that my poker powers are becoming strong again.
I went on to a weight machine at the gym the other day and before I went on there were two young, well muscled women. I assumed I would be fine with whatever weights they had on but after my first set I had to pretend to pick my drink up, then look round and lower the weights.
I also asked about a huge weight machine. I spoke to the gym trainer (who looks about 12) and he explained how it works. I explained my lack of exercise means I am seriously weedy (weak) he laughed and said I looked fine, and put me on a set weight. I then did a set, while my arms shook like a shitting dog, before the young man came back and asked me if I should use lower weights! Outraged I carried on doing as much as I could manage to show how strong I am. The day after I couldn’t put my shirt on properly as my chest and arms felt odd.
So a new mean Lee means beware as my powers of concentration have grown as have my competitive edge. Next time you see me I will be muscled and have the stare of a manic keep fit freak who will talk at you about how my training could help you. Or maybe I will just be drunk and in a cheap bar, whatever, be nice to me.
